FlagPlayLab is a free set of browser tools for volunteer coaches of flag football, youth football and basketball: a play designer and whiteboard, a library of plays, formations and drills, printable playbooks, wristband cards and call sheets, and the rules and field sizes. Each page does one job and works straight away: there is no account and nothing to install.

How it works

  • Everything runs in your browser. What you type or choose stays on your device; nothing is uploaded.
  • Results are computed, not typed in. The examples on each page are produced by the same code the tool runs, and the code is tested against independently calculated results.
  • Every play diagram is our own. The plays, formations and drills are drawn by our own play engine from generic concepts (slant, mesh, pick and roll and so on); none is copied from a league’s or team’s playbook. Every flag football play is checked by code against the NFL FLAG 5v5 rules before it is published.
  • Rules and measurements come from the official documents, cited on each page with the version and the date we read them. Local leagues often change rules, so the league’s own rules always come first.
  • Third-party material used on the site is listed on the credits page.

The app

The FlagPlayLab app, with the same play engine, is now on Google Play for Android. The iPhone and iPad versions are not available yet.

Advertising

The site is free to use. We may show advertising in future to pay for hosting and development. If we do, ads will be labelled “Advertisement”, will never cover a tool, and are described in the privacy policy.

FlagPlayLab is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the National Football League, NFL FLAG, the NBA, FIBA or any league. “NFL FLAG”, “NFL” and “NBA” are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which rules or court measurements a page refers to.
